RE: 1/8 miss bud electric ?!?!
It's been done, they have a class for FE 1/8 scale Limited Hydroplane. Usually around 32 cells or 9S Lipo, Big Schulze Controller, PlettenBerg Motors are great, there are others also.
Hope you have very Deep Pockets! These are not for the inexperienced.
Forget about installing a Turbine sound generator, NOT required. The sound of the motor rev's inside the acoustic boat cavity make the sound much closer to the real thing then a Gas or Nitro.
They are running with !/8 scale gas boats I believe? Sometimes...

This is a 1/8th hydro - its 44 inches long runs 2x32 GP3300's to a Schulze 40/160 then Plett 370/50/A1S and an X460/3. It hit just over 60 mph, and it sgood for 11-12 laps of a mitro course at that rate. It wasnt setup when the video was taken. Have now finished a H&M TPlus with 3800 s and a Neu 2215 - should be faster with better run time I should give you some idea of whats possible

Magnum they are easy to do
Actually the father of 1/8 Roger Newton is onto his second electric 1/8 which he runs with RC Unlimiteds
The only real difference is the engine rail annd mounts - aim to water proof the hull - so purpose made hatches are better and the layout is much simpler than nitro - a small bonus is the thing stays clean!
You now have the option of a single pack of lithium or a single 4200 Nimh both will deliver the goodies for fast running. Be warned electric racers carry their own fuel bowser - a charger - and you need a generator or batery to support it - battery is better when youa re charging the big stuff s the amp multiplication with a near 40v pack is 7 times what you put in so charge 3 amps you need a 22 amp supply - most gens will die if asked for that but if you have acharged car battery no problem - then recharge later from the gen.

that is some good advice , something i`ve been pondering , while trying to decide if this is a good idea or not . something i`d like to know is , run times , how long ? i do know it it will depend on certain set/up specifacs , (load)

Run time depends on the cells and prop and motor - with twin 3300 packs 11 laps or so at race speed
with a 4200 pack about 7 laps
with twin 4200 12-14 laps
with a single 20/30/50 5000 Lipo closing on 18-20 laps
