Default help with outdrive setup

Hi,

I have an ebay highwind boat that has been gutted. I would like to run a basic 550/540 motor setup in it. The problem I am having is that i am fairly new to building a custom boat and I am having trouble finding out where to buy parts for a drive system. I know that graupner sells some jet drives but they are pretty hard to find. Is there anyone that sells a complete outdrive assembly? or something like it. I would like to run either one or two motors.

Thanks,
Drew

If you are looking for Graupner try Hobby Lobby International which carries the Graupner brand.

MHZ blackhawk drive. From what I have read about it, its alot more smooth of a drive unit than the graupner unit

Why just a 550/540 motor? First of all I would forget the 540, they don't have enough torque. Get at least a 550 with the sealed end bell with cooling fan. But even better than that, why not put a 600 or 700 motor in it? What MARINE esc are you going to put in it? I hope it is a water cooled esc.
