If you do go for it and there is much more damage than tower specifies they will credit you in some way. Customer service is usually very good at Tower.

I've caught many great deals using scratch and dent.

The one I bought (#3 SV, btw) was listed as having the hatch pin (in the front) broken off. When I got it, the stringers were broken loose from the hull. It didn't matter to me as I bought it as a spare hull, but mostly to scuttle the power train out of it for another project. The untimely demise of my orange #31 led me to strip it and repair the damage (very easily IMHO) to replace the #31 as we have a SV class in our local club. I'm not dissappointed with what I got. In fact, I can't blame Tower...the stringers might have gotten busted by Buster Brown slamming it around betwen here and there. Besides, an SV needs to be completely disassembled, sealed and sealed...and blue printed before you run it. My new boat is so near stock it's not funny...but's it's as fast as my last one.

Bottem line is that the blue SV I got from Tower's S&D dept is now the Royal Purple boat you've prolly seen in my posts and I have the #31's power train for my next project.....plus, my son has claimed all of #31's transom hardware to rereig his old Wing Speed along with the 550 brushed setup that originally came in his Hotz 43". Oh wait, your a newbie.... Do a search here for the "Hotz 43" to check out his B.O.B.

He's not on my team, btw.... don't ant to have to compete agianst him... He's a better driver than me... Just ask him, he'll tell you!!!

I just received another scratch and dent product. This one is a supervee. It was described as no damage and only slightly used. It appears to be very slightly used with no cracks in painting, no misuse, no scratches or anything. I tried it on one pack of six cells and it works quite well. Can't wait to open her up on 12.

HAHA.. Thanks Orange Crush. The motor and ESC is going to be pulled for another project that I had up on RCU about 10 months ago. I'll throw my Graupner 700 8.4v in to the SuperVee just for laughs and giggles. I have 4 projects for this summer so I'll be quite busy.

That's cool. I bought my S&D SV to gut the power train for a pending hydro and for the spare hull for my club racer. These are fast becoming expendable, yet versitle boats every where. Keep us posted on all your projects. I'm sure they will be cool.

Verado, Thats not bad if all the hardware and parts are in working shape. Sounds like you are going to need to do a lot of touch up work on the hull as moderate damage is significant.

I bought mine for $196 figuring I get pretty close to in the box new. After looking over it, the prop is missing part of the blade. But thats no big deal as a decent metal one will replace it.

OC, you may have to search other forums within the boating section if you want to see all my projects.

Come on OC, it's actually quite bright! I can't limit myself to 1/3rd of the fun, that's just not cool.
