Wonder if I can use 3cells lipo 20C 1800mAh with a Navy 70 Esc and feigao 380 9s? Or do I need more C?

(20c X 1800mah LiPos should be around 36 amps. 2 together, 20c 3600 or 72 amps. all consideration is the 20 peak or burst or constant.

If you did it you have to ask how you need to hook them up and charge them etc, so doing this might not be for everyone.

I dont like the word BURST on a battery, to me it was big mistake saying 12c constant and 16c BURST. When I got my plane I was sort of afraid of LiPos because it said 10c burst. I thought all along it ment boom. Later after working them into the SV I reolized a lot of other people thought the same thing about bursts. There word should have been peak draw or just peak anything but burst. The LiPos are nice to use.

Ok some stupid/basic question here. What could happen if my esc draws so much amps from my batt? Can I burn the esc or can the batt explode or what

I realise it depends on my propp motor etc. But what should i aim for? And what should i take caution/ be careful of?

I tought lipos were good cause the can deliver much amps?

Someplace in this thread explains a lot obout it. You need protection, like a Lipo shield or something or the esc needs it built in. If the batterys volts go to low you will damage the battery.

I've been flying T-rex with lipos/brushless some year ago, but i never used protection just stoped flying before the power droped to much. But in that setup i used esc/heli/batt that were tested togheter so i never cared much about how things worked togheter. And i think my esc in the trex was 25-30A.

So now with this setup i don't know if i can use my lipo....still

ok well. you can charge your lipos in Parallel but it is NOT recommended unless you have a network cable and 2 balancers for each battery. if you don't then charge them individually. it still still take the same amount of time.

Default RE: Lipo 20C enough?

Been flying with Lipo's for 6-7 years now (I was a pretty early adopter). I have flown and charged packs in 2P configuration 100's of times with no issues. With that being said it is safer to use two of the same packs. I do not own a ballencer and so far that has not been a issue but I do keep an eye on individual cell voltage with a DVM. I also try to charge all my packs at .5C. Been doing this for a few years and it really seems to help with the cell longevity, as does not pulling every last MAH out of them. I have 4 TP2100PL packs that get abused in a Steven Aero Edge with a Mega 16/15/3 that pulls 39A WOT and the cells are all closing in on 100 cycles and still going strong. YMMV but I have had great luck with Lipo's in 2P configuration.

Cheers,
Jim
