Im in the process of make my shockwave 26 a separate prop rudder, i had to take out the stock stuffing tube and everything and i need to know how for back the prop should be from the hull? So please someone tell me how far back the prop should be from the back of the hull? Thanks Josh

how far back was the prop with the origional strut? try to keep it around that length....

i dont think it needs to be that far back at all, it was like 3 or 4 inches back, as it had a steerable drive system....

1 and a half inches to the front side of the prop is plenty, thats about 2 inches to the back of the prop. You are right about the fact that it doesn't have to be as far back as the steerable drive was.

So you have already taken out the original steerable drive? How did you take it out without screwing up the back of the boat?

i just simply took out the screws and removed the coupler and it all came out
