What's the difference between a 9.6 volt nimh battery pack and a 9.6 volt ni-cad battery pack?
Dumb question but i don't really know the answer.
thanks

Battery Chemistry
NiMh cells have a much greater energy density than NiCd cells. In other words you get a much greater run time from NiMh cells vs. NiCd cells.
e.g.
AA size NiCd is about 600-700 mah
AA size NiMh ranges from about 1200mah-2500mah

Also nimh dont suffer from battery memory so its no quite so critical to fully discharge them before charging, and nimh can be used twice a day so long as you let them cool first. One thing you might notice if you raced cars is nicads tended to have more power or punch to start with but nimh have better average voltage.

Your not ment to with Nicads not when you use them for racing any way performance drops off where as you find nimh tend to improve on the 2nd charge. Yes you could use nicads more than once in a day but you are sposed to let them rest in between for quite a while.

I used to run my hornet and then charge it, and then run it, and then charge, and run. All day long. Nicad. I'm sure the performance was way below what's out there today but I ran the snot out of that thing for two years and never bought a second pack. (now I have 4 sets)
