I got given this esc but i have no idea what brand or type of it is.All i know is it has'nt got a b.e.c.
dose anyone know what typ it is.

no bec means that you need a separate battery pack for the servo, are you goign to build a boat?

I just taking a stab at this, but looks like a arplane brushed esc. Maybe 10amp? Doesnt look like something I'd put in a boat, unless I knew something about it. It's tough to identify what basically is a circuit board, with one FET.

It looks exactly like the ESC in a Megatech Skyvector. The Skyvector is a 2 channel airplane that runs a 180 size motor on 6v. I thought it did have BEC but then again they only gave it 6v.

As far as I remember the battery leads were on the same side as the motor leads covered in what looks like hot glue. On the other side of the ESC there were 2 leads going to a push button safe start switch. And beside the switch leads are the receiver leads.

If this is the ESC that I'm talking about it's good for no more than 5A as it is meant for a 180 size can.

yea i think it is an aeroplane esc. when i plug it in to a reciever and hook a motor up to it it only works with a battery pluged into the reciever.

All small Air ESC's use BEC as a receiver battery pack would add way too much unnecessary weight. Especially when you are dealing with low power setups - less than 12A.

I wouldn't run any more than 7.2v or 7.4v. So 6 cells at 5A. That is a 180-280 size brushed motor.
