sometimes you get batteries that arent the real mccoy .. so to speak . They have intellect on the package . But if you say the run good and strong I'm gonna pick up a couple of packs . I was looking at the batteries on www.boomboombatteries.com and looks like the batteries you have are a better deal .

Not to hijack the vilain thread, but 51 inches is a big boat to try to get moving with electrics. Lots of $$$$$$w

approximately 6 volts. The villain IV uses two 7.2v motors, the EX uses two 14.4v motors. The EX also seems to have a nicer radio box. Same hull though. The EX goes a bit faster, but they both have the same potential after upgrades.

If I had the money I'd have 5 villains

one jet-villain(got one)
one single surface drive villain(got one)
a normal villain
a twin surface drive villain
and a twin outboard villain

That would be awesome

I was on the phone today with traxxas about some parts for my villian and he told me to check the website tomorrow or in the couple of days. He said they have a new release of something in the marine family but wouldn't tell me . He sounded excited. Does anyone know of a new different boat coming out?

not I, but I can almost guarantee it will have the Velineon BL motor(s). Could be an updated villain, maybe scale looking and a single BL motor. That's my guess.

it's not even really "new" looking. For a company that keeps upgrading all their trucks with BL power, I'm a bit surprised they even bothered with this. I would have to say it is marketed to compete with the proboat mini vee. .......they didnt even update the outdirve! same one as the villain [:@][:@][:@]

cheap p o s

Yep, looks like a new hatch and some upgraded electronics. Thats it. Same ole flawed O.D. and the stinger 540 motor. They say a modded hull, I wonder what/how its modded?

The kicker is the Villian Ex won't get over 21mph according to coolecool their guru. Looks like same hype and old equipment. Why don't they sell the hull only and let the boaters do their thing. Well, water over dam now

it's unfortunately all about getting one time/new boaters for a few hundred bucks. Marketing wise, not too bad, but not very cool at all.
