Default Will Model Paints Work?

I have a SV that I am looking to paint soon. Will the Tamaiya model paints work on my SV if I sand it down good and put a primer on it? It should not require auto paint like on a nitro boat, right? The reason on a nitro boat is to stand up against the fuel over time. I don't have access to a sprayer or airbrush, so this is why I'm asking.

Someone please advise. Thanks

Yes it will work. I painted a boat with the Tamaiya paint and it worked fine. But I don't know how it would hold up in salt water.

I use my MV for salt. The SV is ran a freshwater lake. Guess I'm good then. Thanks
