Dragon that's close to what im looking for... dunno how I missed it. Anyways the version that I was looking for is completely flush with hull, that one seems to stick out a bit, I know I'll hit it and break it or it'll screw up the river running a bit.

I went back through history... know it's on here somewhere but unable to find it.

[link]http://206.206.85.209/xtdoc/Details.aspx?ProductCode=m-1790&store=mhzusa[/link] Try that link Headhunter. I bought one when I purchased my Gecko, but I have not yet used it. I think it's what you are talking about.

I was wondering if anybody has experience with the Graupner 2347 unit which has a 49mm impellor! I see they're sold by Cornwall model boats in England. Has anybody seen them sold in the states? Any idea what size motor you would need to get that thing to full power? Glad to see people are playing around with the 40 sizes.

Headhunter i have a kb45-o8l it runs beautifully cool and smooth, not sure what amps it pulls as i don't have a watt meter.

I'm running a 29m graupner drive with standard impeller on 14.4v

It did run ice cold until i fixed my water cooling and added water cooling to the esc, oh well can't hurt to have a little warming for the motor

no he hasnt . well guy hate to say it but im an ideate . got my 5s in . and went to test the weght of both paks in the hull after that i hocked them up to the esc . but used the wrong y connecter . 36v isnt a good idea even for a sec . know all the esc will to is pluse the motor . it is so bad that when you disconet the esc from every thing but the battery . the deans plug pluses like the motor did . [&o] but i have a nother 100a coming .

Vinnie, where did you find a 6mm connector for that KB45? I've been searching around for a 6mm to 5mm with little luck.

Headhunter: Yup, it came (from a private party) broken. The box had no packing, but didn't appear damaged - Arrrrgh. But, no biggie - superglue will take care of it.

Danfurst: did you get pics of that Jet Ski mod yet? Looking forward to seeing them. I'll bet it sucks (ha!) better opened up like that - I know mine did better afterwards.

Dragon: I feel safe in saying that we've all been members of that club (for one reason or another) - so welcome! What esc did you fry??

I've decided to (Dragon might like this) dismantle this other (brand new) ABC Jet Ski and use the powertrain in the 21" river runner (BBY Oval Offshore). Should be plenty of poop. Anyone need a mechanical 2 speed w/ reverse (25a fuse ) speed control? I've got two I can spare now.

Whoops, 10s would have been interesting to see running.

There is a very short video a couple of pages back or here www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E_6EdRnmZM battery is getting flat and cameramans first outing with that camera. May try to get a better video tomorrow.

The connector is a modified '3345 Graupner Flexshaft Coupling Assembly (5/4mm)' from cornwall models but i just checked their website to find a 6mm to 4mm version '3343 Graupner Flexshaft Coupling Assembly (6/4mm)'.

Don't know if that helps you but that's how i did it.

The reviews (Hobby City) for that controller say it is only reliable with 7s. The first review says he fried it on 8s! And another says a different store rates it as 7s. You might want to look around some more.... Sdg

Dragon check this out - there are two versions of that esc. A high voltage and a low voltage version. Look here: [link]http://www.suppomodel.com/ESC/escmenu.html[/link]

Thanks Vinnie I saw that one, and while looking around some more happened to find this goldmine:

GOOD MOTOR CONNECTOR SOURCE!
Youse might oughta save this to 'favorites'. It'll be difficult to find it later looking back through the thread. [link]https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Direct.asp?GroupID=659[/link]

good find . i saved both sites. its great that they sell a hv but i really dont need it 18.5v at 2600kv = 48100rpm should be insanly fast . since big blues fastes run was 49950 rpm . im sure vinny could use it since his kb45 can handle that voltage.

My esc says it can run 25v max which would be 57500rpm if i wanted it.

Happy with her as she is though, this is my first FE boat and water around here isn't that large that i need anymore speed.

I'd probably melt the drive anyway seeing as they aren't exactly the highest quality materials.

But then again 36v should be around 82800rpm, might be amusing for a few seconds

Just thought i'd give you guys the new video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxEx3dWlaSE

Recorded today, was quite windy i think that was causing some issues seemed a little jumpy.

Perhaps i'll get a gps reading next trip. Seems to get slower each use i guess that's me getting more used to using her.

welcome . i thank jm on here was plaining a blast converson . pretty much with the mini jet drive youll need a 90 deg trannsom to make it an easy drop in mod . but if the hull isant at 90 deg it can still be done youll just need to noch the transom around the outlet to make it fold in to make that area wright . i have some pic on that mod . this drives steer by a nozzle on the outlet to deraict the flow to side to side . how where you plaining on powering brushed -brushless , lipo- nicd . and a bugget on a setup

oh well idk i have a bunch of lipos for my rc cars liek 4 or 5 actually what hull would work best that is cheap and idk brushless is expensive i was thinking maybe the traxxas vxl set up since i have 2 or running a waterproof xl5 with a titat 12 turn motor i would liek to basicaly cut a hull in the hull and have it work but how would i do the rear and what is a cheap hull that is flat and small enough i dont have a lot of money to spend in rc boating since i can only use the boat in the summer cause at college only water big enough is the college pool ( i dont think they liek rc boats in there) and the Hudson river so to invest tons of money in an rc boat not worth it but i love the idea of jet powered because they dont need deep water and in jersey sometime the lakes and amall rivers get quit low and rocky

you can get a cheap brushless setup from hobbyking . i would just get a nqd jet sprint off of ebay . and get the setup i just posted . and all you need in a 3s lipo or nicd pack and a radio setup and one hiteh 55 servo

motor $14.95 http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4704&Product_Name=KB20-40-15L_3800kv_Brushless_Motor_(FIN)

esc $9.25 http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...Simple_30A_ESC

plus shipping around $7
