Default Graupner Silver Bullet rigger

Wanting to get back into electro, I've picked one of these up for little money. Plan on using 6 cell, 3300 NiMh pack, Lehrner 5300 Basic brushless & Mystery 80A speed control. (on the Mystery control, I've found the instructions and how to set it up with a stick/pistol Tx's)

I've built only two electro's before... MH$ Gecko and Titan. Both fun boats but never went brushless as my main interest in the gassers. Sold them off a few years ago and have since found a new group that mainly run the FE's. They don't mind my gas rigs as I work hard to keep the noise down but I want to be a real part of the group. Hense the purchase of this little 6 cell rigger.

Here in Germany, Graupner has discontinued them from their lineup but you can still find them at some hobby stores. Oh, & there's a good copy on E-ba-y.de if you look. My feelings are they did this for a reason... not fast enough, didn't meet expectations or my hope is that they just didn't have enough interest to keep producing. Whats your take?

The seller told me that the boat worked good and produced fair speeds... guess-timated mid 30's on 6c. With 7c he said it would naturally step up a tad and on 2 LiPo's its a rocket. He's a trustworthy gentleman over at RumRunnerRacing. Always one to be optimistic... prepare for the worst & hope for the best. LOL.

Anywhooo, just wanting to step in & say hello on this side of the forum. Can't wait to see how the little honey does and be able to engage in more conversation than the gas/nitro boats.

Take care,
Jamie

ps,
I read the thread on how to watercool and ESC, but another question is can I mill out a little heat sink and glue it to the top like the one in the Mystery ad? Would this be effective or just watercooling like the thread here? Or is it even needed for 6-7c? [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=758811]Watercooling an ESC[/link]
