I got a few runs out of the boat and switch the antenna over to a Dean's 2-piece. After the install I got around 3 runs and now I have interference when the motor is running. It started one day at the pond after the first set of packs were done, on the second set I got loads of interference. If I start the motor with the RX inside the box it happens, if I pull the RX out it seems to go away. The antenna wire is not in contact with the motor wires or batt. leads. Anyone know what to do? I lose complete control[X(]

many of us ,have had rotten performance from the stock AM radio. I had multiple runaways, before I swaped out and went FM. No more glitching or runaways. I used the receiver and transmitter from a losi mini LST,that i got off ebay for $35. hope this helps.

That does help, because I though the stock one was 72 or 75mhz. I think a new radio is in order, maybe a Traxxas because they are very cheap and I have had good luck with them.

Well got it to work today, I had to face the RX away from the ESC and insulate the antenna with E-tape. Seems to work now but hearing about runaways scare the crap outta me. Can you tell us more about the runaways?

I can tell you that if you had of performed some searches on RCU for SV27, you would have found these threads and almost all of them talk about the problems with the stock SV27 radio.

Wheelnut I know you are a valued person on RCU and your knowledge is not replaceable... but come on... 351 different posts on props and water cooling??? Don't fall victim to the "do a search" statement, please! These types of replies plaque the forums already.

OK. sorry.
and you did a good mod that I have not heard of yet.
But seriously, get rid of the stock radio. The cost of a decent radio will pay for itself by avoiding a serious crash and ruining your SV. Even a cheap FM radio is better than the stock AM radio.
