Clash of the BL's SV 27 vs. Black Jack 26
I'm trying to pick one. Help me out. Please explain. Oh, and this is only my second boat. First was mini a V, not that matters. I have many cars/ trucks.

Not too many people have head to head experience yet. Those that are intimate with the SV are not going to give you a direction because they know how subtle things can be. I have a SV and love it. That said my next boat will be a cat. I'll probably build it. But My guess is that Proboat has torn apart many an SV to help them in designing what they hope will be an even better boat. Those who have been waiting know they took their time. Judging by the out drive on the BJ they didn't learn anything from the SV but there are going to be other reasons to go BJ. I'm sure it's a good boat but I'm not voting because it wouln't be fair.

I agree its a bit early to tell for sure. Personally I would love a brushless cat but I feel that proboat have not quite got it right with the BJ (mostly with regard to the outdrive setup instead of an offset rudder). Early reports put the speed of the BJ in the same class as the SV.

I couldn't vote because I have BOTH boats AND both in nitro AND brushless versions - I love both (all four?) of them for different reasons:
Electric brushless - quiet, less support equipment, already have many 6 Cell 7.2V stick packs with 40A max dischg rate from 3300 to 3800 to 4200 to 4500 mAh. I also have a MiniCatRacingUSA.com micro hydro which absolutely flies on it's lipo batteries (and only takes one at a time).
(I also have my "oldies" non-brushless: Traxxas Blast, Traxxas Villain EX (which will fly with the right batteries and metal props). I use the EX as my "rescue" boat.
Nitro = too many to count: see "My Marina" under my profile. (Also gas boats - ProBoat 55" SuperSport with Zenoah Z26Puma and AquaCraft v-24 One Design with a Fuji-Imvac BT-24Marine - see Spring, '07 issue of Model Boating for matchup of these two against each other AND against a WareHouse Hobbies w/extra features).
Gotta run, talk some more later,

sushi,
That pretty much qualifies you as the best guy to vote. Can you expand upon the differnces? And maybe just go ahead and pick an over all winner (out of the box)

I'm a complete newbie to boats. I have both the SV27 and the BJ and have more fun with the Blackjack. It was easier to waterproof and for me was easier to set up and get moving faster. I do like the handling better on the SV27, but that's the only thing I like better.
