Default Need a motor to push my shockwave 36 (converting to brushless)

I'm tired of all the issues with nitro and boating... tuning it takes forever, launching it is a pain, blah blah..

I just want to put a huge elec brushless in the thing and be done with it.

What motor do you guys recommend? I'm not all that concerned with top speed but do want the motor to be powerful as I want to put a prop on designed for low end vs top end. The pond I run it in doesn't have enough room to really wind it out, but it sure is fun to wake around and such.

Thanks!!!

I just did one. I am using a NEU 1521 1y with a CC barracuda 120. The battery is a 10000mah 5s lipo and a x445 prop. It goes 42 mph and has 10 min. of run time. It pulls about 120 amps. with motor temps about 135 deg. I don''t fun full throttle 100% of the time but I would think the motor would over heat if I did. I just started this project so different props will give me better results I''m sure. I''m very happy with the conversion so far. If any one has a suggestion on a better prop let me know.

I converted a shockwave 36 about two years ago. I ran a 12xl Nemisis BL motor with a Hacker Navy 70 on 3s and 4s with a 447 prop. I also had a gear reduction system. The boat ran like a charm.
