I'm currently running 14 intellect cells in my sv27.
I'm considering buying two 2s 5000mah lipos.
Obviously the voltage of the lipos is lower than the 14 cells but does the lipo hold voltage higher than nimh under load?

Which is faster?
Will my boat be slower or faster running the lipos?

Will the weight savings compensate for the lower voltage of the lipo pack compared to the nimhs and make the boat faster or will it still be slower due to the lower voltage?

Hard to say, generally if you have nimh and lipo the exact same voltage, the lipo is faster even if it weighed the same. I can't remember why, something about... ahh can't remember but there's a reason. But there's over 2v difference... what is the weight difference?

A 6000mah 2s lipo will produce more power than a 5000mah 2s lipo. The higher the mah rating the better.

As long as the discharge rate is the same or better.

6,000 mAh 10C pack = 60 amps

6,000 mAh 20C = 120 amps

5,000 mAh 25C pack = 125 amps

I'm considering 2S 5000mah 25c lipo vs intellect 7 cell packs.

Trying to get a comparison on performance between the two .

Obviously I won't get the lipos if they will be slower than what I'm already running 14cells nimh.

I would get the lipo and just put a bigger prop on. It would then be the same speed or faster. Or if you want just plain faster, make it one 5s 5000mah pack.

The 14 cell NIMH batteries are heavier than the VENOM 2s 5000mah 20c lipo batteries so it should be a good race.

The Super 27 LVC cutoff of 5.4 volts will not work with the 4s lipo, but was designed for NIMH. So bring boat in early to prevent cell damage.

The higher 6000 mah Maxamps battery has the same 20c discharge rate of the 5000mah Venom. So it will produce more power with longer runtimes.
