Castle is offering these two motor choices with their new Mamba Monster controller to run in the Traxxas Emaxx truck. The motor will serve two purposes...boat and truck.

I am slowly learning, so why did you pick the 1512 2d/s over the 1512 1y.

1512 1Y - Maybe perhaps a 4s outrigger? It should be over 50mph.

You could buy a Feigao or an Ammo for $50-$70 and you'd still have a nearly undrivable boat...if that's your goal. Fast?...oh yes. drivable? not really. Why not start with the Ammo and see if you can handle that? ...or get some killer props for the SV, or a wiredrive and some big fins...some badboy Lipos?
it is hard to see what you are wanting to do at the pond/lake...you want to be the fastest guy? who/what are you racing? Do you want to drive the boat behind your real boat?
Do you want to beat a speed record? or do you just want to show off the Neu motor bling in your SV? you want to beat the gas/nitro guys? what's your goal here? that'd help us guide you a bit better before you throw away another $600 on a boat...
to answer your question "Which one of these two motors will work best in my Super Vee."...I'd honestly have to say neither one will work better than the stock motor, because they are both too much for the hull. What batteries you use, what props you use all make a big difference too...if improving SV performance is the goal...

Wow...you really are jumping in with both feet here. A $263 motor in a $279 boat...? That alone defies typical logic, but I can understand that if you are the kind of guy that wants to put a Hemi in a Prius. Still, if I had a Hemi and wanted to build a car, I would find a more suitable home...like a Cadillac...or Corvette. Seems at least to be a more sensible use of funds IMO...I guess you already got that point though.

Here is kit: http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...a_monster.html
I am new to this boating stuff, but I really like the looks and fast stable speed of the riggers. Maybe I will build a rigger to go with my dual porpose Neu 1512 1y if that is possible. Does this sound retarded? Will the Neu 1512 1y work good in the 26" rigger?
Here's my Venom batteries: Two 2s 5000mah 20c Lipo, Two 3s 4000mah 20c Lipo, Two 3s 5400mah 20c Lipo

Here's video of a 9xl Fiago in a Super Vee using 5s lipo @ nearly 50 mph. Which Neu motor is equal in performance to the 9xl?

RE: NEU 1515 1Y or 1512 1Y...Which one?
I've seen the vid.
Are you planning on running 5s? I wouldn't do that with the batteries you've listed.
sooo I'm still confused...why not just get a 9XL and run it on 5s then?
they can be had for 50 bucks...you could get 5 of them for the price of one Neu...don't get me wrong, I like Neu motors, but they are price/performance overkill for an SV hull, and if you're just sportin' around, I'd say it's not worth it, but I value my dollars.
Are you really gonna be switching the motor back and forth? seems like a pain, especially when you can afford more than one motor if you get something less expensive.
Car/Truck motor requirements are not the same as boat motor requirements in the way they use current and react under load...the load is vastly different between driving wheels on dirt, a prop in water, or say a heli-prop in air. So in that sense, it's going to be difficult to find a setup that suits both and isn't taxed by one or the other. Boat setups generally are the highest amp drawing setups of the 3 types I mentioned by nature of having a prop trying to push against water, then hopping in and out ofthe water also creates spikes you don't necessarily see in land or air vehicles.

You need a 33" rigger for 4s. I run a 27" rigger using 2s in E1.
Batteries listed are very weak in performance, I wouldn't trust them.
A NEU 1515 2D would be a bit hotter than a 9XL. Will also spin a slightly larger prop but will pull the amps to do so.
