Questions to think about when buying a boat for the first time.
Whats your price range?
You have any previous experience with electric cars/trucks/planes?
Do you have equipment from that stuff? batteries, radios, charges etc.
What type of boat you looking for, Vee/Mono, Cat, Hydro?
How big is the body of water you plan to run it in?
My suggestion, since this is your first boat and your not to sure if you will end up liking rc boating(I bet you will, its very addicting) start with the small/micro boats like the Mini Rio, Mini C or Mini V or even the ZigZag racers if you like the style. They won't set you back a few hundred dollars only to find out you don't like boating, yet they are fun enough to let you experience RC boating.

Theres threads on here about all these, just do a search and you can find them

RE: what boat to buy
I dont want to spend a ton but i dont mind spending a few hundred.
I have a charger and some batteries
I use to have a nitro boat a few years back
water is big enough for any size RC boat
I was looking at vee's but am open to anything
Also i was planning on picking one up on ebay or here used so i am just looking for some ideas and directions and will purchase when a decent deal comes along.
thanks!

RE: what boat to buy
I bought the electric version of the SuperV from Tower. It runs fine, but I did have to take the motor out and realign the driveshaft to free it up some. Then I had to replumb the cooling because a line was pinched. That said it probably would have run fine the way it was but I'm picky. Anyway, it has been a lot of fun. Pretty fast but not tempermental.
