i baught a renagade rigger kit and built it perfict. both sponsins are the same and on square.
it dont run like all the vids. it tail drags real hard. i have put the strut in every spot and in every angle.

As I don't know what comes in to the kit..
what batteries you use? what prop? what engine? where was your CofG?

my renegade has no probs. are you running the stock prop still? the one in the vids runs a de tongued X632. also what battery, esc combo are you running & are you running the motor provided? you may not be getting enough power.

Riggers are the hardest boats to tune and get running perfectly. The boat you see running in the vids has been tested, tweaked and tuned to near perfection. Riggers are very sensitive to EVERYTHING! My Matrix rigger runs like two different boats just with a small prop change. Keep at it and you will get it running good.

the stock motor doesn't work with some ESCs, I know it doesn't work with some of the castle creations ones (Grant Ed had that problem). also you should try the prop I mentioned above & I wouldn't be surprised if your battery isn't powerful enough. with a 1000mAh battery you will need at least a 25C rating to get the boat really moving. the flight power 25C 1500 battery is a good one that fits in the rigger - part number FPEVO25-15003S.

I run the mystery 25A speed control too, but you'll need a transmitter that you can adjust the ARC on so that you can set it up for the boat, it's designed for flight & with a normal transmitter will have the motor spinning when the throttle trigger is in neutral. there are other ESCs out there that will work.

hope this helps.

It's too tail-heavy. Get the weight as far forward as you can.

your balance point should be just behind the motor or level with the back of the turn fin. the rigger will make a fairly big rooster tail compared to the size of the boat when set up properly. there is another rengade rigger thread on this forum with a pic of someone else's strut. it would be worth searching for it & having a look. If I remember correctly they posted the angle & depth of theior strut too. this would help you out.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_59...tm.htm#5960474

lots of info in this thread.

if you type renegade rigger into the search tool you'll find lots of info.

also I have cut the skeg off the bottom off my strut. a few others have done this as well.

ok i put the mini tazer 25a esc in my rigger and WOW! i have had this boat for 4 or 5 months now and never seen it run like it did. went back to factory setting on the strut.(where they say is a good start in the instructions) and again WOW! it stuck to the water. i did flip it once but it landed up right. but only one flip out of like 35 40 min of run is alot better than 10 flips in like 8 min of run tim.

Glad you got it working, just keep an eye on motor & ESC temps. they can get really hot.
