How new is new?
A temperature of 150 would indicate you are drawing too many amps regardless of the condition of the pack. Too much heat in the packs will greatly reduce overall life.

Your boat could be drawing 2A in total, if the packs are over heating you are drawing too many amps.
Replace the packs with 2 new 4s ones and run them in parallel. You will get a much better run time and discharge rate. (Double)

If your packs appear to be swollen or puffed out they are starting to go bad. Be sure your LVC is working properly or bring boat in before it starts slowing down to prevent cell damage. And like ryan t888 said try to run two packs parallel for more mah. I had four new Venom packs puff because I did not know what I was doing. If you do run Two batteries in series make sure they have a higher discharge rating of atleast 25c or 30c. Extra mah helps also.
Two 2s 5000mah packs in series equals 14.8 volts 5000mah
Two 4s 5000mah packs parallel equals 14.8 volts 10000 mah...this higher mah is safer for a high power hungry setup.

Flightpower has a 90 day warranty on their packs.
Be smart and make sure you have enough battery for the job. If pack temps start fealing warm such as 120 degrees...they are being over worked.

the IR in the cells drop at 100 Deg+ thus "unloading" your packs and making you go faster and making your batteries live longer and happier. at 120 -130 Deg, your packs have such low IR they could " live forever"
I aim like Ryan said for HOT cells. 100-130 is normal for me. any thing colder and you risk damaging your cells.
on race day in colder conditions i will keep my lipo packs in a hot box at about 90 deg or in a heating blanket or in the sun in the window of my car to get hot. this way they preform better and they can discharge better. thus. a happier cell
