Default Problem with SV ESC and Futaba 3PM 2.4 FASST

Picked up a Super hawaii from member on OSE that is powered by 2 SV ESC's and 2 SV motors.

Having a bit of a problem. not sure what is going on. \
i had no idea how to program the ESC, i looked it up on the net

here's the procedure i found-

turn on transmitter and boat

wait for beep from esc then full throttle your transmitter
beeps again
and then return to neautral and its ready to go.

well in order for me to get the esc's and motors to do anything
i have to full throttle it, full brake, full throttle and then full brake.

the problem-

cant shut the throttle off on the boat.
from the git go its wide open.
if i use the brake all the way it stops.
when i begin to back off the brake the motors start
spinning.
They start spinning before i get on the throttle it self.
thats what happends if the throttle is reversed.
if its not reversed i have the same problem only
i have to stop the motors from spinning by giving it throttle with
my remote.
im using a fresh channel, nothing changed
i've tried both PP and HRS.
PP doesnt work. or i cant get it to atleast with the ESC's.

any ideas?

first electric set up to by the way.
so i have no clue.

Thanks for any help

Have you contacted the OSE member to ask what you might be doing different from him, setting up the ESC's?

Was the boat in running order when you received it, or did you have to connect and set-up the electronics yourselve?

What's the powersource for the boat (NiMH, Lipo's), one cellpack per motor, or one for both?

Are you using a seperate receiverpack, or the BEC function from one of the ESC's?
This is important; only one BEC circuit should be used, the second ESC should have the red wire pulled out of the connector and taped back.

You're mentioning a brake-function; usually a fast electric doesn't use that function, as stopping the prop won't slow it down, you just have to throttle down timely.
Could this function be disabled? It might confuse the setting up of the ESC's.

Regards, Jan.

Very Easy Fix

Reverse the throttle channel on your TX using the reverse function
All my Futaba radios are set well in to the negatives in trim to arm the SV ESC. Set the throttle trim in the negatives.

it was in running order when i received it. the seller was using a spektrum radio with it.
the only problem was that on the of motor's/esc's were not working for me at all.
the blue wire leaving the esc was hooked up to something else.
i ran the wiring to both esc's the exact same for eachother.
both work now.

someone on OSE mentioned that it could be my trim or my servo reversing switch
trim's are at 0 for everything, and my throttle reverse switch doesnt help at all.

im not running a receiver pack
both esc's have the red wires going to the receiver hooked up
power source- 1 14.4v 4000mah 4s lipo

steering servo works fine
the motors work fine.
its just the signal leaving my remote im guessing.
i cant get the motors to stop spinning with the remote in the
neutral position

and on the brake function, im not sure.
when i go to program it i dont get anyhting out of both esc's
untill i use the brake and then get back on the throttle
then it beeps.

bought the radio and receiver brand new.
so i dont beleive that is the problem.

I own a 3PM and it works great on the SV setup.

Turn your throttle reverse function to "on"

Set your throttle trim well in to the negatives as I've said before.

PLay with the setting until it works.

As Ryan has said. Set the reverse to "ON". Then turn on the TX, plug in the batteries and start bumping the throttle trim into the negative region (towards "low" throttle) until the ESC arms. I had to do this with my 2 SV27 ESCs and 3PM radio. Works perfectly.
