Twin Motor Gearbox
Hi guys,
Kinda new to the speedboating world here (I usually like to run scale). I've noticed that some boats have two motors turning a single spur gear with a single prop, the ABC Super Hawaii for example. I have a cheap V24 which I got off e-bay (those with the vector thrust setup) and I'm planning to modify it with such a gearbox. My question is: is this a reliable design? Will there be a problem with the pinions stripping the spur gear overtime? I want to make use of the stock motors since I don't plan on competing, just some fast and fun to play with.

RE: Twin Motor Gearbox
I would say dont bother with it. Just use a 700-800 size single motor on direct drive and save a ton of complication, those dual setups were the old way of making torque, now we just use bigger motors.
