Hey hows it going guys... ok here's the thing I have a Ebay Boat called Wild Seeker, Basically its a "knockoff" of the Kyosho Sunstorm 600. Witch I found out after I got it home and started to learn more about RC Boat's cause this is my frist one we'll at the end of the frist season I blew the ESC lol.. its all cheap no name stuff anyway,, So I bought a new DuraTrax Streak ESC.. It was a good price and I needed one that was kinda small cause theres not much room in the radio compartment .. we'll in the review it says Units Low FET Count ?? but I have no clue what that means ?? so if anyone knows let me know please.. thanks .. So now I need a new Motor cause the old one had it. I was looking around and seen a Kyosho Aquaspeed Motor that was nice but no one had it in stock then I came across this GRAUPNER SPEED 600 BB 7.2V Motor so I orderd it. I didnt get it yet I was wondering If anyone has this motor ?? or heard anything about it is it a good motor and is it a good choice for my boat its 24 long 7 wide.. and the ESC rate is 300 Amps it says and the boat is a Direct Drive and I have 2 prop's I been useing a OCTURA X431 plastic one that came with the boat and I have a metal OCTURA X432 but with this one, The shaft really wobbles alot when the boats out the water and I full throt it maybe I shoudnt use this one at all "what u think ?? We'll thanks for you time.. Shaun !!

INCLUDES: Two Black anodized heatsinks (one small, one large) One Streak Speed Control Unit Motor capacitor kit (Only Two Capacitors Used For Speed Control, One Will Be A Spare) Double-sided mounting tape (1" x 1") One Schottky diode (silver line goes to Positive) Pre-installed standard type battery connectors Pre-installed bullet style motor connectors Pre-installed Futaba receiver connector Mounting and hook up instructions
SPECS: Voltage input: 4 to 10 cells (4.8-12V) ON-resistance: .004 Ohms Operating frequency: 3500Hz Maximum current: 300A Weight: 2.1oz Case size: 1.64"L x 1.5"W x .66"H Rx wire length: 10.5" Batt wire length: 4.5"
I would think that motor will be fine for the size of the hull. Since the prop will be subsurface you'll have to be careful when choosing. I think you actually made a good choice for a prop an x432 might be a good start. You probably will want to reshape the prop however since it is subsurface. The trailing edge gets modified like this.
I wish I knew a lot about modding the props but I know this is what the end product should look like. It is tough to find subsurface props and there isnt much info out there on them for FE's. Whatever you do, the prop needs to be balanced and I'd recommend buying a balancer to do it properly. Check out the hints/tips senction on offshore electrics website.

In addition to Quicksilver, I'd like to say the propshaft (stuffing tube actually) could use some support in the form of a triangle glued between the stuffing tube and the bottom of the hull, as the propshaft is unsupported for an unhealthy long stretch.
If the propshaft is the same as in the Kyosho 'Windhopper' (I'll explain) it's wise to change it for one with M4 thread; as replacements for the odd Kyosho size is very hard to find. With M4 threaded shafts the choice is considerably wider.
If it's indeed a Kyosho copy, don't get your hopes up too much on making it go faster; the rocker in the hull makes it porpoise (badly) beyond a certain speed, using a 600BB on 6 cells will be driveable, add one cell and you'll spend more time in the air than in the water...
I've tried to modify one for a friend and have gone back to a Graupner 34,5K prop and six cells.
Regards, Jan.
