Has anyone tryed different packs in these boats? What is the most amount of cells that the Blackjack and the Fastech can handle? The esc is 21 volt, but I dont see anybody talk about 7 or 8 cell packs in these boats. I have also been told that two 7 cell packs would give me more speed than two 7.4 2s lipo packs is that true.

I have bin looking to buy the Fastech, any thoughts good or bad.? You are right about the lipos, I cannot find any imfo on what the best lipos to use. I have 2 14.8 5000 mah from my logo 10 but I am sure they are to big. The Fastech would be my first boat, is there a better one. It seems pro boat is at the top of the field. Any suggestions would be helpful...Thanks Carl

I have a bj26 and 7 cell packs are okay but not good IMO cuz the esc keeps cutting of the power at about 60% throttle. I've tried several props and strut heights/angles w/7 cell packs and I can't get the cutting off to go away. I'm still thinking of prop ideas though, thinking of trying an X642 maybe[sm=rolleyes.gif]

Mine cutts off with 6 cells soon as power drops a little it goes 5 ft and stops over and over. The factory prop should be fine the esc says it is 21 volt have you tried lipos? Much to upgraded do a better esc?

I like the design of the boat and the price was right. Everybody has SV 27 and they need very calm water. The Fastech does decent on rough water thats way I chose it. I dont know if those batterys will work. I have a 11.1 3s pack I would like to use but I dont know if the motor can handle them and I know I will need a new esc.

Here's the thread we've been working on with the FasTech;
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7528997/tm.htm
I'm running 4200mAh NiMH DTXs as well as an off brand 4500mAh NiMH - not ready to make the investment in another charger and then lipo - I have a SuperBrain 977 that will charge lipo but there is no balancer in it.
My boat is running fine - there are links to two vids I have up on youtube also.
The ESC has a seperate controller you can buy to change the curve/cutoff/battery type.
If you boat is cutting out at 60% throttle you may have the limiter on the esc set so it does that and if the boat is cutting out I'd suggest your batteries may not be at full charge.
This is all based on my recent experience with the FasTech - I'm no techy.
