Default help!!

Hi all,
I'm quite new to boating been into gas for a while but due to a lot of complaints about noise I want to look at getting into fast electrics.
Thing is I have absolutly no idea where to start!!
I have seen this which looks nice http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=020
can any body tell me if it would be a good place to start?
I also really like the look of the H+M drifter cats I'm looking at the small one but have no idea what set ups people are running. can any one help?
Thanks in advance....Pete

Hi Pete,i've made a few electric and gas boats.
That one linked looks a good price,but reckon you will end up replacing the motor and esc after a short while.Cheap electrics means just that,cheap.

If it was me i would i would get this deal;
Microlynxx deal 1; http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/fastelectrics.htm

put an Etti 100amp navy esc and a Mega 22/30/2 with an aluminium water coil and run it on 4S lipo.

Or,if you want a bit bigger the Minilynxx 33 deal 1,; http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/ look under 'Deep V racing hulls'
same esc,with a Mega 22/35/1E again with a water coil. on 4S lipo.

All the electrics can be bought here;
http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/product...lection=motors

both shops will give you tons of help and advise....

egay sells the Etti but without the good Astec warranty of course[]

This is all good quality gear.
Brod...

cheers, i had a quick chat with prestwich the other day and they recomended the rtr microdart they have on sale but to me it looked very similar to the ones on fleabay, I do like the look of the the mini and microlynx, I toyed with the idea of getting a full size one fo my zen but ended up with a 43 challenger which is 'fun'!
I want to go fast whatever i end up with that is my goal....

The Microdart would be too small if your used to a big gas boat,plus the electrics are probably naff,Dave is a gas,nitro man pure and simple[8D].

I have both of the hulls i mentioned earlier and both run very fast and reliable,with decent gear inside.

trust me,electric R/C can be very tempermental with below par components.
Buy the best you can afford.......
