Best Brushless RTR on Choppy Water
I had a Supervee and it stunk when there was even a little ripple in the lake. It would flip so easily. Which of the Blackjack 26, Miss Elam, or FASTech would be a better choice for mild chop. I know the hydro isnt out yet but I can wait for it if its going to be better.
Ill keep it pretty much stock except maybe a prop upgrade.

The FASTech -
I've been able to stir up a little chop at the end of my lake and it handles it very well.
Looks good jumping the wake too!

Pretty much any 27 inch long boat that runs 30+mph might...just might not land right side up when it flies off a wave.
Think of the scale here, even a 5 inch wave is HUGE to a 2 foot long boat. 12 cell brushless boats just plain go too fast.
Either get a self righting hull (no RTR's I know of) or run the boat on 9 cells. That will slow it down enough to stay upright.

I don't have any face to face exp with teh fast tech but it does seem to handle chop well for it's size and speed. I'll keep my SV though. I like the risk part of it.

You could also build your own brushless Vee if you want.

they have a nice deep vee to build

The Fastech is your boat if you want to go RTR. Sorry SV 27 owners, it's a rocket but the thing just wants to flip. The Fastech has a deeper draft. It may be a little slower because of it but it is quite stable and turns like it's on rails. If I was headed out to a bigger lake and didn't feel like swimming out to get my boat I would definately go Fastech. I have yet to see the BJ in rough water, or my Apache for that matter, but hopefully that will change soon and I'll let you know how the catamarans do.

how hard is it to build a complete from offshore. is it hard to put all the drive train in? Does offshore help with choosing what equipment s good?

The folks at offshore are very helpful. I think they're on vaca through the 10th this month though. You've got a lot of options to choose from there - way more than you'll find at a LHS.

RE: Best Brushless RTR on Choppy Water
I saw a fastech at my local hobby shop today and I think I am going to pass on it, for being more expensive than the SV27 its not built nearly as well. I think I am just going to build my own instead.
I wish aquacraft has a deep vee brushless boat that would be more stable even if its not as fast.
