Another Outrigger Predator project!
After reading the post of the Predator outrigger i've dicided to built one!
I'm going to by the balsa today.
Question: May i use a TP2100 3s 15C ( i have two of those)?
Question: What kind of brushless motor should i get to it?
Question: What ESC should i buy(limited budget)?
I bought a 75mm rudder on ebay, will it be ok or i started the wrong way?
I'm thinking buying this strut 4mm
Kit includes:
4mm flex cable, teflon lining, brass tube x 1 set, squared end prop shaft (no soldering needed) x 1
drive dog x 1
tail nut x 1
teflon washer x 1
strut and bracket x 1
Is anything missing here to work ok?
Here in Portugal we do not have this kind of parts so if i broke something i have to order it
on the web so.....
This is my first boat so any help.....
Thx
Rui

That is the rudder I have on my Pred and fits great. I built mine with a 19" tub. I also have a Solinger 3/16" aluminum strut for it. I will be trying a bunch of motor/lipo combos in this one.

What is your overal length going to be? How fast do you want this hull to be in mph or km/h?

You can go with a 380XL motor or 540s motor. Which ever fits best. The wind will be around 2900kv.

Both the 380XL and the 540S have the same wind?

I actually have one on the way to put in a surfer for a "fun" project. Or something for the girl friend to run. It may be a bit small for what you need but should work. I'd start with a small prop if you do decide to go with it.

Those are really only good for planes that don't draw too many amps. Their rating is nowhere near the requirement for a fast 6 cell rigger.
(100-120amps)
If you don't want to go TOO fast, (maybe about 40) this might do:

BTW:
Hobby City just put two boats on their website.

I've got a 2 cell LiPo rigger and it does 55mph and does not draw anywhere near 120A. More like 80 and it is 27" long. On 11.1v that would only be 50A. I'm running a motor that is only 48mm long as opposed to the 40mm motor above.
If you are drawing 120A, 2P packs are a must or there will be serious heat issues.

So, i should get a 120A ESC?
I'm going with the Feigao 540S 12S 5mm shaft and the strut that is in the picture.
For the 4mm strut what prop from HERE do you recommend?
