how to cut down a prop?

is this to run all the time or just to see if a 30mm will work best because i cut down one with a file put a dot on one of the blades then run the prop over(rotationg it so its even) 5 times then the other blade,i wouldent use it all of the time but just to see what prop size i needed to get

Can't you just use sand paper? I smooth out my CF props with paper actually sharpen them with it. One time I got a little carried away and removed too much diameter while doing this. I'd think you could do that. Would be a good experiment to see what prop to order at least.

I havent actually made the boat yet. I was going to put it in a micro rigger. What size prop would be best for a 370 brushed motor in a rigger
