stainless or copper

They each have advantages. Stainless is more resistant to damage but its harder to work I.E sharpen and balance. Copper is more popular than stainless.

way more popular. I've never seen SS props for RC. (never looked for them). Actually what is the alloy most common? I think Octura is around: Cu (90%) Berillium (7%) and Titanium (like 3%). These are pleanty strong and are likely lighter than SS. I've had the pleasure of running an aluminum prop. 3 hrs of prep and it was on the boat for 6 seconds. Hit some floating mulch and it bent like a pinwheel. [&o]. Just remember that if your working with the CuBeTi alloy wear a mask if you are producing dust as it is a Cancer source.

Hi
I have two SS props for my boats. Both are prather a 215 and 220. They work great and look pretty. Good points, they are stronger and if you like a sharp edge, will hold it better. They do not weigh more. The copper props are available in much greater supply and types. Easy to work with and are good for every use. Both types will do the job .You just have to pick the right one .

About 10% of my props are SS. I'm a fan of the Prather props and have many from the 41mm 215 to the 78mm 280 all in SS.
I'd say the biggest advantage I find is it holds sharp edges a lot longer. Being a harder material it is a lot more time consuming balancing and sharpening the props. A nicely done up SS prop looks great on any hull!
