i have never owned an rc boat before but i am thinking about buying one and the title sums it up the blast is a good looking boat but seam very limited in hop ups
the hammer is about the same size but has a bigger moter and can handel 8.4 volt packs my other option is to buy a used boat off ebay like a villian IV? what would
suggest knowing i have been around rc for about 20 years but only cars and trucks. also it will be used mainly in a 2 acre pond but it might make its way to the big lake with me sometimes. also if anyone has a nice boat they are looking to sell but have not posted i would be interested in looking i would like to stay around $130-150.

I currently have a SV27 and have been looking at the Hammer and Blast too as a second boat. I like both boats but I think your right in the long run the Hammer is the better way to go for adustability and hop ups its a simpler set up with the direct drive shaft vs steerable outdrive. Even though you been in RC for 20years, thats longer than me I thing for your first boat a new one might be the way to go I don't mind buying used wboats/good deals/other peoples problems but not if its my first or only one. Just my .02. After reading your post I think I'll buy that Hammer now

I had a blast , I have still a hammer and a villian ex . Im sorry to say dont waste your time on the blast ... looks good but you'll be disappointed. The hammer is a great boat , I still use it as a retrieval boat and sometimes I just take it out for chits and giggles .
