2.4 gHz? It's nice to upgrade to that, bu t you can use even a lowly AM radio with a brushless setup.
The SV27 brushless actually comes with an AM radio (not a particularly good one though).
I used an old 2 stick Kyosho AM radio on my SV27 for a while and it worked great.
