Default 80MPH V Hull

Here is the video which hooked me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAKXXv5QgP0

So now I am going to attempt 80MPH in a V, just a little smaller than the hull in the video.

What V hull would you recommend for this? I am looking at the Aeromarine Titan 33 as my first choice.

What about batteries?

I am considering Thunder Power High Performance series batteries, the 4450mah 6S2P. I would use two of these packs in a series for 12S2P. I think that sounds about right to get this hull to 80MPH. I will worry about the motor once I figure out a current source.

Concern I have is effect of the weight, at 676g x 2, that is 3lbs in battery weight. I don't think it will be too much, just wondering how you feel using that weight in the Titan 33 will react.

I am open to suggestions, as I want to get the hull ordered and start the project.

Thanks

IMO a 33 inch mono is going to be very hard to keep on the water at 80mph...

Id be looking at a larger hull TBH - something more like a Seaducer, note that video is a 45 inch boat.

What do you think about the Delta Force 41?

i think that would be a much better choice, I have owned a similar hull when I was running nitro, where you plan to run is it rough or calm ?

80mph is still a high target, whats the fastest boat you have driven ? .

That is what I was thinking too.
I would have thought that someone who is aiming at 80 should at least know what it take to get to 60, and have run that.
Given that experience they would then know a lot more that the original question suggests.

Just a thought.

80 on the water is #@%$# fast !!

considering guys have pushed df26s to 70mph and df33s to 90mph i would say a 33" boat is very capable of the 80mph
that being said the setup knowledge and testing these guys have is huge
at 80mph if somthing goes wrong it happens very fast and even if you build a strong boat its going to get damaged if not totally destroyed

I think you need to start by attending some of the SAW events (Legg Lake or Huntsville) to get a handle on what really goes on.

Unless you're already running 60 easily, you don't stand a snowball's chance of hitting 80 safely.

I Concur.

thats the reason I suggested a larger hull as it will be more stable at those speeds and less likely to end in tears
