Default modding rio

Hey,

I am buying a mini rio from offshore electrics, and was wondering what easy modifications I could make to make it go faster, without spending alot of money. I am ordering a Octura X430 propeller, but do not know what to do in regards to other parts.

Default RE: modding rio

i got a sw26 prop and a 2s lipo and it goes much faster than it did when it was stock, but it flips kind of easily so you might want to add some weight. I would also like to recommend to put a antenna tube in the stuffing tube as my esc shuts down after 2/5min runtime without it, and you might want to switch wire on the wiredrive. Mine got ruined after about 10 runs with upgrades, i replaced it with a wire from the gears on old bicycle and it seems to be working, but ive only runned 2 packs on it so far so its to early to tell. Others have used a 047 piano wire with great luck. You can also replace the stock engine with a duratrax vr3 engine that cost about 15 dollars. You can read more about that in the mini rio thread
