Default Tower Pro ESC Help

Hey all. I recently purchased a Tower Pro 70 amp ESC. Apparently it was originally for use in a plane.
This one has water cooling added for use in a boat. It requires a Pistix which I have on order. I found instructions on a site in the UK on how to program using a stick radio.
Am I correct in assuming that the same proceedure, ie. throttle position is to be used for programing?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Joe

I use a pistix in my Renegade Rigger and it has worked perfectly without doing a thing to the radio...you will be very happy once you get yours! Here's a pic of it sitting on top of my receiver...
