Ralph, I wish I could help you more, but I think I found the solution...all your friend has to do is send me the 11.3v Lipo, and I'll send him my 6 cell NiMH. I guarantee he won't burn up any more motors

Yes there is but they are like $45.00 groupner makes them speed 700 motors .... If you don't have that kind of $$ try a kyosho magnettic myhem motor i ran one for a long time on 9 cells and it worked well

You may be better served to change props. Nobody knows what a blue prop is . When you run that high of a voltage in a 550 motor you need to be careful of prop size and type. Even a Octura X431 may be too big for this boat and voltage. The suggestion of a magnetic mayhem motor is a good one . They are a workhorse and should drop in.
