Default Is this a good brushless Setup?

I want to put this brushless setup in a 32in hull.

(LINKS DELETED GO TO LAST PAGE FOR CORRECT LINKS)

And do I need 2 water pick ups (one for motor and one for esc) or just a y-valve or sumthing?

well, for one, your ESC and battery link is the same...

and another, the motor mount is for xl cans and you are planning to get the L size... (unless you know the L will fit, then disregard the comment)
Other than that, I do not have much experience with these setups so it would be best for others to help out here.

Default RE: Is this a good brushless Setup?

have a look at the links i gave you in they other thread.
you need a 540 xl size motor either a 11 or 12 xl.
batteries you need would be 3s (11.1v) you need 2 to run in series for 6s (22.2v) and around 30c 5000 mah
coupler should be in the link i gave as well 5mm - .150 or 5mm -4mm if it is 4mm and not .150
esc the turnigy may work but the link i gave you for the etti is way better.
you can do it once properly or try a less powerful setup that may cost you more in the long run when you find it wont push the hull very well
just my 2c

this will work well 25c not 30c but still good enough for what you need http://hobbyking.com/hobbycity/store..._25C_Lipo_Pack

okay go the 12xl it will be better, motor mount is good, get the longer water jacket the link is in your other thread, batteries you posted are not what you need.
charger is okay but wouldn't trust the power supply.

no you wire 2 in series so you get 6s 22.2 volts 5000 mah, easier 2 have one batt in each sponson, will shoot you a pic

see in this pic of my cat,one battery in each sponson, easier to have 2 batteries one either side so you can change c.o.g than one big battery.
just excuse my pic as cat is get some work done and is a bit messy in there

Default RE: Is this a good brushless Setup?

c.o.g is centre of gravity or more correctly balance point of the boat, what you do is measure the length of your hull from tip of sponsons to the transom.
then work out around 30% of the length of your hull, in your case 30% of 747mm (31") is 224mm (8.82")
measure from the transom of your hull up 224mm and that's where your boat should balance.by this i mean you move your batteries etc back or forth till the hull balances at this point on a broom handle or round rod
you may need to move your c.o.g further backwards or forwards depending on speed of hull and strut height and angle etc.
when i setup a new hull i usually start around 30% and a level strut and work from there to tune it in.

as i said the etti would be much better, i never suggested the turnigy 120a as i dont know how that would go, there is also a turnigy 180a that may work.
a lot will come down to the prop used and setup

its all about money if you can find a etti esc and feigao motor, all the parts, and lipos for $300usd, then that would be great!

Could i order 2 of these lipos? cause im thinking of getting a etti 150a

lipo,s are to small wont handle the amps being drawn.
i know what you mean about money, i would build it with better gear and take a bit longer to build than trying to cut costs it will only cost more in the long run.
i have a boat i want desperately to get in the water its been over 3 months getting parts together, but i learnt awhile back,do it once properly or spend more $$$ fixing it

Ok whats your opinion?
Order the
the motor, esc, coupler, mount, cooling motor & esc
OR
the 2 Lipos and charger

I can only buy those two choices and will buy the rest when i have enough money.

i would get the motor, esc, coupler, cooling jacket, mount. that way you can spend a bit of time putting it together and work out what goes were.
the esc cooling plate is not needed as the etti already has one, and get this cooling jacket its the xl size http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...ose-mjacket-XL
thats every thing from o.s.e you mite need so only one lot of shipping costs.
when your ready to get batteries from hobby king it will pay to get some 5.5mm plugs and probably a ubec, o.s.e does sell a ubec as well, if you was running the boat with a nitro chances are you will have a battery pack for the receiver any way

looking good, got any shots of the hardware (rudder/strut)
if ordering 5.5mm bullets get 3 more sets for the 2 batts and battry side of esc
a ubec is a small voltage reducer, converts your higher voltage from your running packs in your case 22.2 volts down to 5-6 volts to run your rec/servo,esc

NOTE: THERE IS A PAGE 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i searched ubec on O.S.E and couldnt find anything :/
THEN, I searched bec and this came up:
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=de-sportbec
Do absoulultly need a Sport BEC?
Becuase I'd rather buy 2lipos and a charger first.

P.s. I FOUND OUT THAT A SPORT BEC IS OPTIONAL YOU ONLY NEED IT IF YOU DONT WANNA RUN YOU RADIO ON 4 AA's

you can get cheaper 150a esc's with the bec (battery elimination circuit) already built in so you dont need a Universal bec, everything is powered from the batterys
