Default supervee 27 problem

The housing (blue) on the brushless motor is pulling away from the magnet when the boat is ran. This causes the housing to spin and disconnect the plugs. I am tired of swimming. How can this be remedied?

You need to put a thrust washer between the collet and the motor, this puts the load onto the front of the motor can & takes it off the back of the can.

That's cheaper than replacing the motor.

Probably not, offshore electric would be your best bet.

A thrust bearing is meant to be run in compression along the shaft it is mounted on, a normal bearing will run in compression at 90 degrees to the shaft it is mounted on.

+ 1
a normal bearing will not work well for this aplication

Yep, the motor cap bearings are good for side to side loading, but poor for transmitting forward thrust. For that, you need a thrust bearing. A bushing between the drive dog and the strut does the same thing, albeit not as efficiently.
