ok, that kind of confused me, im not sure i understand what your saying.
Is the strut the part that mounts to the boat?
Are you saying the center of the shaft will line up with the lowest point of the rear sponsons? (spelling?)
And if you changed prop diameters, that means raising/lowering the shaft accordingly?

I didnt think that the shaft could be raised/lowered, i thought it could only be rotated to change the angle, but
i have never messed with one of these, just thinking from what ive seen in pictures.

yeah heh heh that was confusing. Well what I said about where to put the strut yes that the strut on these boats. Probably has a few names but we are talking about the same thing. Location that you described it where I started. If the rudder beam is mounted too low you will have to move the strut down to accomodate larger props because of clearance between the prop and the rudder beam. This will move the prop lower than ideal. I'm still not sure on what the best height is for the prop but so far this has worked for me. Just good having as much adjusability as possible, and I don't due to my short-sightedness. Also in my experience its posible to adjust the height but not so much the angle, maybe a little.

Ok, that makes sense, thats kind of what i thought you were talking about.
How much adjustment does the strut have? Just a few mm?

Probably closer to 1/2"

This is what I added to my ebay purchase. You can see the slot has room to move it up and down. I left the skeg fin on it thinking I may remove it later depending on how the boat handles. So far I have no reason to take it off.
