I am thinking about going lipo's. So obviously it's going to be Hobby King Turnigy packs. Right now they are just for my basically stock Villain IV. The stock speed controller blew, and I got one of those blue pro boat (I think) speed controllers in it. So no low voltage cut. . .
What can I use for an external voltage cut? Does HK have anything? Or should I just get new speed controllers with LVC?
P.S.
I got sick and have been out of a job for 6 months with no income so I have no money. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP.
I was also wondering what I might need for a C rating on those turnigy packs. (again stock Villain IV, but also in the future for my Nitro V conversion with about a 700 brushed motor)
only 2 cell for now.
At $24.00 just for LVC I'd be better off getting a whole new ESC with LVC in it.
Any others? Maybe just and alarm of sorts?
the esc you have should have LVC built in, they can be set at 3v, 3.2v or 3.4v. this is per cell, i always set mine at 3.4v, this can also be set through the transmitter but as i use program cards someone else with the experience of transmitter programing can help there

i have some proboat esc's, they have lvc in-built, i'm pretty sure you can buy proboat program cards, theres a company here in the uk called www.heathsrcmodels.co.uk, they want £21 for it, according to the write up in can be used on the bj26
give them a look, on the homepage click on boat spares and scroll down, its in the left column

You could try one of these. As long as your current draw is less than 30A. It will also allow you to run 3s later on if you want.

It has a 3.0 V/cell cut out. but you should bring the boat in before you hit the cutout.
You could also use this as an alarm on your Proboat ESC. I have one for use in my scale models but it may be hard to hear in a sealed up fast boat. Works for 2S 3S 4S packs. It also starts alarming at 3.3V/cell.
