Default should i wait?

well at first the traxxas titan was going to be released in july but then they kept pushing it back to september and now they dont even know when it will be released, so my question is should i wait for the titan to be released or should i just pick up a boat off of hobbyking? if so could you recommened one that would atleast be capable in chop, and also what does HOR mean?

ok so which qwould you choose, have the mini cat and be able to run it for the rest of the season or pick the titan and most likely not get to run it this year, and after i calculated out what i need the prices are quite similar so money doesnt matter, thanks for the help!

you mentions chop. . . . a cat will not do well in chop.  Go for a deep V.  If you are itching to get on a lake I would order something from HK.  Just make sure it is in stock, or you will be waiting.  I am waiting for a Genesis, and I am not expecting it till late september.<div>

no true about cat and chop
I have a MM and it takes chop like a champ!
and a little more truth about cats, they get faster with some chop
and I agree HC is a great place to get a fast electric boat

youre a more experienced boater than i am, so heres what i plan to run in it, would you change anything about this setup, and would this boat require hatch tape, and if so is there any good way around that so im not taping and untaping it all the time?

those batteries should do the trick, if you run 4000mah packs I would pick a 30c pack
and the servo is killer, it will do the job just fine
as for hatch tape, it is the best insurance to fight off what getting to your electronics
its really no big deal once you run a few times

Ive got the Titan and the EKOS both on order at tower. I'll take one or the other. heck maybe both lol. But right now its just what one gets in first is what i'll end up with.

And honestly I think those boats on hobbyking are neat looking. But being the brand name is unfamiliar to me I am pretty skeptical about those. I try to stick with brands I know and trust. And traxxas is defiantly a name I feel I can trust. And well venom..I know they are trying to build their name. But I know I can call venom up here in the USA. and while there are many post of problems with the venom EKOS lately they know its a problem and they did try to fix it with new motors. Now its just a waiting game on when they will come or finding one.
If I were to buy one of those cats that look hella cool on hobbyking I have a worry that if I have a problem that I would have a hard time getting through to anyone about what to do. But thats just my concern because its overseas and not here in the USA for support.

Oh and BTW about towerhobbies. If you become a member for $10.00 you will get free shipping on any order over $150. also you will get member coupon codes to use to save money. For example one that I am using is if you spend over $300 on something you can get an extra $60 off! and free shipping.

And another thing lol.
The catermaran style hulls are way more stable than the Vee hulls. even in rough water. the trade off seems to be they are not as fast. example if you had the same length hull, motor, esc, battery, props, & etc in both a vee and a cat. I can bet money the vee will go a little faster. WHy? because there is less hull in the water on a vee vs the cat when they get up on plane.

A little FYI nitro
The ekos hull and hardware come from the same maker as the Hobbyking Cat, difference being you don't have to pay the mark up from venom
And Cat a generally faster than a Mono hull
And faster after that is a Hydro and faster again is a rigger

I'd like to ask those of you who have ordered a whole RC boat, plane car truck etc. not just parts. From HobbyKing aka hobbycity, How long does it take you to get what you order from them? Again this question isnt for parts. its the whole package. i am asking those of you who live in the USA only also.

Takes less than two weeks to get the item...
Take a look around, venom imports these boats and that's why they are always out of stock and they have not backed up their ekos
Read through the ekos thread and see what issues people had, it was with venom
