Leopard motors what's the difference between a leopard 4092 in a 4082 what's faster
|
The 4092 is 10mm longer than the 4082,giving a little more power, depending on what brand too,my Revolt 30 doesn't really need more torque though,it's not big enough at 30 inches,..I have to be easy building speed with the 4082...but would be fun to try the 4092..: )..lol

Patrick125 has tried the 4092 motor!

Leopard motors what's the difference between a leopard 4092 in a 4082 what's faster What will you put these motors in? What voltage? What Kv? . |
Good explanation Got RPM: )...I'm using a 1600kv 4082 Goolrc motor in my Revolt 30...working great!!

I my experience the bigger motor makes a difference.
I have try the leopard 4092 1730kv, and the 2080kv. Those motors are monsters. I though the aqua craft 1800 revolt motor was nice and it is nice. The m545 octura prop made a hugh difference on 4s in my revolt. But the 1730kv leopard 4092 on 4s with the m545 is like going 6s on the stock revolt motor with the m545. The difference was that big for me. And the 2080kv 4092 is like adding an extra cell to the 1730kv. These motors are monsters. |
Quite the apples and oranges comparison, and off point. A 4092 is far bigger than a little 36x60 mm RTR motor, diameter and length. No wonder it is more powerful. The poster asked about the difference between a 4082 and 4092, not a little RTR motor...

actually a good 36 mm motor will out perform a larger 40 mm motor. t.p. versus neu.
|
Show proof that a 40x92 TP will be out-performed by a Neu 36x60 motor. Oh, that's right, you can't!

For most uses, motor length makes little difference. It is motor Kv that matters the most here. If both motors have a Kv of 1700 they will both be very similar in speed with the same prop. The longer motor will be able to spin a larger prop and may thus be faster. But the higher speed means higher amp draw and shorter run times. And a higher risk of burning up your boat.

What will you put these motors in? It's going in a 41 inch traxxas dcb with a 180 amp
esc running 50c rated batteries. Prop 545. 1730kv |
