Hi Green,

Can you post a few pics of the boat; side-, top-, and rear view?

How many cells does the motor run on now?

What size prop?

This is a large hull, what is it made of?

For this size hull a 700 motor on 12-14 cells would be a better solution, maybe a 800 on 18-20 cells would be even better.

Give us some more info, please.

Regards, Jan.

Not at an angle, just full rear, full top, full side to see what the hullshape looks like.

I see, ABS, hmmm, that means reinforcing before putting in a 700 motor

For this size hull a 700 motor on 12-14 cells would be a better solution, maybe a 800 on 18-20 cells would be even better.

Thanks for the pic's.

Is that a steering outdrive?
Does it work with an universal joint or a flexcable?

Regards, Jan.

hey again the whole outdrive prop and all turns with a u-joint

That's what I thought, too bad.

If you decide to upgrade to a direct drive with a 700 motor and keep the steering outdrive (which allows for pretty accurate steering, no arguments there), you'll need to reinforce the hull and possibly the transom to keep the 700 motor from trashing your hull....

Also the bearing in the outdrive need to get replaced by ballbearings and an thrustbearing to keep the universal joint in one piece.

Make sure the steering outdrive is mechanically limited to about 15 degrees to each side, or you'll swim a lot, as the universal joint gets shredded by binding.

Otherwise, go for it!
This hull can handle a lot of speed.

Regards, Jan.
