RE: outdrive setting ?
I just finished experimenting with different settings on my blast. I found that setting the outdrive 2/3 up works great. This leaves the drive pointing slightly down. Any higher and the prop cavitates badly and I can't get on plane no matter how slowly I try to accelerate. Any lower and the boat won't plane at all. I'm running a Reedy 19 turn spec motor with a 6 cell pack and water cooling. I made my own brass and aluminum and brass cooling coils, and brass works alot better. The brass tubing is harder to form but worth it. The motor is slightly warm to the touch after a run. I'm pretty happy with this setup, the boat is pretty quick and I get a cool 3' high rooster tail.

RE: outdrive setting ?
Well I set mine up like I have my villian ex . Almost level with the bottom of the hull. I also installed a water cooling kit , team orion 19x2 and also a water cooler for the speed control . I ordered one from the villian ex ... fits great . I just have to plum it now ... I'll have pics up soon . I curious to see how it runs .

RE: outdrive setting ?
Great idea on the water cooled head for the esc. Does this fit the stock blast esc or do you have a different one? I'd be interested to know double wound motor does. Mine is a quad wound and does well. I was thinking about putting a 17t in the boat just for grins. I really don't think the blast was designed to go much faster then what either tweek or I have it set up. With a full battery it chine walks on a straightaway.

RE: outdrive setting ?
I'll get some pic's of mine posted soon. Just got back from the lake, really windy lot's of rough water. Waves were 6-7" high. Boat really did well, i'm impressed. It got beat pretty hard in the chop but held up well. I wouldn't chance larger waves though. Only other thing is the boat is tougher to get on plane in rough water. Keep the prop sharp, makes a big difference. Funrcboats.com has a conversion shaft and metal prop to run on the blast. I imagine this would make a big difference on how the boat planes and top speed. I think I'll order one in and post results later.
