I doubt the hull weighs a pound, anyways ,I gutted it without a problem, except for the servo, which was glued to the hull and not mounted correctly, there was a mount glassed into the hull that wasn't being used properly,so I had to rip out the other servo with pliers and dremel out all that glue and use the mounts correctly.here is a comparo pic of the batteries, the top one is the one that fits,2 should work nicely.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Thats awesome trunk monkey. I am glad to see you got it! Keep us updated. Looks like a decent deal.
You even gonna run the stock ESC and motor? I would like to see you run them. I wanted to keep it stock initally as to get my feet wet in electric hydros. |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
OOPS..Too late for that now,I did do some dry runs.probably would have ran decent for most folks, but I'm too addicted to speed and it's almost vacation time for me ,so I had to hurry it a little. It wouldn't have run long anyway, the motor to shaft coupler was not right,..the shaft end of the coupler was 4mm and the motor end was the correct 3.2 size to fit the motor shaft, there was some kind if plastic in the u-joint coupler end where the hole was too big to compensate for the space and was just about to come out anyway.Gotta find a drive train that will extend out enough to get back to parrallel with the hull so I can get rid of the submerged drive.problem is the transom is only 3/4 or so inch tall.gonna be hard to find brackets to mount, probably gonna have to make some, cut and solder a flex shaft and find an esc that's small enough to mount properly.Fixed the servo problem though,it's in the pic.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
I wonder what type of battery the manufacturer intended to be used in this hull?

RE: E- Miss LLumar
holy that boat is small
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Yes it's small inside but, TUFF on construction like a Super Vee 27. Stock Nitro engine Sucks [:'(] New OS 18 will do the trick!!;) :D All broke in ready to run [8D]

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Heck I haven't figured out what hardware will work yet, this thing is tiny and space is limited, the transom is only 3/4 inch tall, that don't leave much room for good hardware to mount and it's submerged drive, maybe no big deal on that ,but gonna go surface drive probably,I know your boats are all very fast, don't want to get 'lapped by a cat ".:D

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Very Funny :D My Cat still has paddles!!![&o]

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Ordered the hardware for the boat today, got it from MHZ,very small and tough, only have a little to modify there, hopefully, now all I need is a brushless combo that will work.I'll get to work on it after the 1st.should be fun.
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Got the rudder and strut installed today and all is well, except the flexshaft is too small.090,so I ordered some 130 from steven and am waiting on that, gonna order a motor and esc tomorrow, thinking of a race 600 and jetti 60.Later.

RE: E- Miss LLumar

Done, but not run...yet.Anyways ,here it is with 130 flex, and mini strut and rudder from mhz, graupner speed 600 race and jetti 600 navy, should be fun with 36mm prop.Almost forgot to mention,I had to rip out the stuffing tube and put in a bigger one to accept the 130 and teflon sleeve, also to bend out the subsurface drive angle and get the proper surface drive angle, worked out great.,and will probably be real fast, now I need a turn fin...

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Look at the hardware that Mini Cat Racing USA sells on their website at www.minicatracingusa.com Look at the micro hydro they have there ready to run (no radio or batt) with water cooled brushless motor and ESC.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Thanks.Yeah,I've seen yours....Lots of bad weather here in the big D. Gonna finish up on the project first before vids come out.Still can't find a small enough turn fin to fit it Will have to cut one down to fit. This little boat has been a lot of fabrication work cause nothin fits.Should be ready for prime time soon. And I guarantee ,it will haul.[sm=47_47.gif]
