E- Miss LLumar
Yo dudes....saw this and made an offer on it. I can get it for 185$ shipped. Just wondering of any thaughts........ Was thinking for the money it might be fun just to run stock...or mildly modify with a bit faster motor....
Whats up? and no.....this would be in addition to the SC32....not a replacement. Trying to diversify my collection and I have never ran a hydro. (for all the people that read my other threads) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...E:B:BOCOR:US:1 I sure wish they showed the radio gear....Maybe state how many nimh cells it runs on.....They say something about a 11.1 lipo.... Now that I look at it more it looks pretty cheap. But for the loot, maybe it's worth it. |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
looking more....I like it!!! but it looks like there is no surface drive? How will this fair out?
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
I looked at it too
It is not a very big boat at 18 " long for that much money Same size as the NDQ stuff I will keep looking |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
yeah, same here. I think I'll pass. If I could have gotten it for 150 shipped like I offered in the 1st place, I think it might have been fun to tool around with. But, he wants to much. Thanks.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
I bought it..gonna go brushless with it if it looks like it will take it,hope it is worth it, I'll let you know as I found out where these come from.;)
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
it will be interesting to see how it goes and what you think of the boat when you get it in your hands
let us know when you get it |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
it is really strange, i read this thread, then went to my local hobbie shop and i saw one of these but it was £200 so thats about $400.
it shocked me just how much it was. |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
The one you saw in the hobby shop could well have been the proboat nitro version that is quite a bit bigger than the one that is being talked about here.
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
no it was only small, about 18-20 inch i would say, its just a rip off over here, it could have been new but not sure
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
the ebay boat was only 18"
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Oh! Thats such a rip off! Why does everything have to be like double the price over here? [&o][&o]
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
i know it really is annoying.
at least we can order stuff from the us cheap, as £1=$1.9 at the moment. good for us bad for them, lol. |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Munky Man! So your the guy who got it for 175$? Ahhh....it looks cool but I would rather see someone else pour money into it and see how fast it goes :D

RE: E- Miss LLumar
What do you guys think would be a good brushless setup for the little guy, maybe an sv 27 setup from steven,my 27 really flies on 2 6000 lipo packs, wondering if the shaft size will be right and if there is room for 2 battery packs or one big lipo, he said a 3s lipo at 11 volts comes with it.Guess I'll have to wait and see if no one else has one yet, I also have a lehner basic 5300 and mgm compro 80 that hauls on 11 volts...hmmmmm? Fedex don't fail me now! It was almost 80 degrees here yesterday, still have time to mod and run the puppy,I'll keep you guys posted. Oh yeah, you can buy one HERE , http://www.jethobby.com.sg/ezsite/ ,also the Predator is the same boat being sold here in the states by Steven at OSE under another name, but I'd buy it local if I just had to have one of those boats and support Steven ,but that's just me.[sm=47_47.gif]

RE: E- Miss LLumar
if you want a good hydro hull and your going brushless any ways . go buy the nitro miss bud or the nitro miss LLumar and then take out the nitro and drop in a brushless. much better
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
I am confussed
I do not think that the miss llumar from ebay is the same as the predator they are both small but that is it |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Naw, I really wasn't lookin for advice on which hull to buy ,I already have some serious e-boats,my jolly cat keeps me happy for speed and I've done more than a few electric conversions since brushless first came out in mass. This is just for something different and fun,I have a miss ELAM conversion that I did a while back, and a miss Vegas too. Those boats are alot of fun to run around"nitro" guys, because, well you know why.The last time I ran with a nitro boat it was a miss Vegas converted to a .os.21 and my sv27 on lipo.I was faster in the straights by more than he could makeup in the turns..we wound up coming together in a fast sweeper and the `Vegas didn't fair too well, with numerous broken parts while my sv only got chipped paint,...lucky me,...he's still p.o.ed but he was going to convert to brushless after the o.s. got broken in anyways and put that motor in his LLumar,,I guess it got broke in.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
hey trunkmunky
I was thinking about getting a nitro like the miss bud and converting it to electric which seems you have done do you use any of the original hardware from the nitro stuff ?? or is it easeier just to start with a bare fiberglass hull and put new hardware on it ?? |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
Kind of depends on your skill level and how much time and money you have.It is certainly more satisfying to start from bare bones and do it all yourself , that way you know without a doubt how your boat is made, and can control the quality and hardware pieces better. Most of the outer hardware is going to be usable on a conversion like this, mounting the motor esc and relocating the reciever and housing to mount batteries is really up to your own imagination and skills, and what type of e-system you will use.You can buy these kits now that have all the hard work done for you,and you just choose the e-system that best suits your needs, but remember the old addage...speed costs money..how fast do you want to go? I bought a toysport jolly cat a while back that had all the hardware installed and I just added my own e-system to it,...pretty easy..only set me back about 1200.00. I doubt I could have done a better job at building that boat myself .Very high quality work.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
Nobody wants to spend more than they have to
If it takes X amount of $$ to get the job done so be it it just might take a little longer just do not want to get into something that will not work well in the end building it is half the fun |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
I hear ya,..happy modding and MERRY CHRISTMAS ! [sm=47_47.gif]

Boat came in today, way to go fedex! Looks good as far as the glass work, very thick, electronics are cheap am stuff ....gotta go..rudder was broke off,,cheap metal..gotta go anyway..motor mount and stuffing tube are very good quality..stainless ,and the coupling is the graupner u-joint type. Motor mont is adjustable forward and aft,,,a good thing and servo will have to be remounted..batteries will have to be the smaller lipo 7.4.I tried one and it fits perfect on sides.Need to gut it and shop up some good hardware for it,man this thing is small inside, but not to much of a problem. Here's some pics.

RE: E- Miss LLumar
It should be an interesting project
the hardest part will be getting what you want in the space that is there |
RE: E- Miss LLumar
when you get deeper into this project I would be curious to know the weight of the bare hull
|
RE: E- Miss LLumar
I was looking at getting one of those hulls and was wondering if it looks like some 2/3A cell packs will fit or is it so shallow that only lipo will fit?
