Need help getting started with SV27

I bought a RTR Supervee 27 brushless from Fine Design. He sent me the following.

1) Red Supervee 27 RTR brushless
2) Astro "blinky" battery balancer for lithium packs
3) Lithium charger 7.5 amps, 9 cells
4) Lipo pack asm. 2S 3700mah 7.4 volts, 6" L x 1 3/4" w x 5/16"
H. Discharge rated 20c, 3.5 oz weight

I'm left with the impression that I need to buy some sort of power supply too. I've tried calling Fine Design to walk me through this but, i get no answer and he doesn't return phone calls.

Can someone help me get started? This F/E thing is completely greek to me. Gas and Nitro make sense to me but, not this.

Also...is it worth while to switch out the stock controller/receiver. Rumor has it that they have glitches.

Thanks

Any 12v power supply will work for you, I'd purchase one that can supply at least 12A. I use a relatively large 12v lead acid battery at the lake to recharge while I'm there.

Here's a search on tower hobbies for power supplies

Any tips on how to charge, run, discharge?
