ok
basicaly I started out again with a new design. Im making a tunnel hull now 22 inches long and roughly 8 inches wide. I'm still planning on using the graupner hydrospeed flex drive witha 700 motor. I cut out a hull to day on the school's CNC machine from blue styrofoam, Im gunna use that as a plug to make a mold and then make a fiber glass hull.
IM making the boat in two halves, what would be the best way to attach the two fiberglass halfs?

I'm really busy these days......

However before I say something about gluing these two parts, how these two look like? Do you have them smooth, clean and ready to be glued or you are still to put some fiber glass layers on it?

In the past I used to smooth the styrofoam before doing anything.

right now I'm in the process of sanding the styrofoam plug smooth, then I am going to paint it with a latex water based paint to seal it. After that I am going to start laying fiber glass to make the mold.

no i havent finished the mold yet. its taking me longer than i thought it would to get the plug finished
as soon as i get some pictures ill postthem up.

Morgan did you buy any 700 motor?

What about shaft and rudder?

What kind of equipment wanna use? Try robbe, cheap and usefull. got ant shop close to yo? I used to produce these items in my workshop

i havent bought any hardware yet. but im planningon buying graupners hydrospeed flex drive system witha 700 motor. the closest shop is about 30 minutes away and its called ideal hobbies. ill check out robbe do they have many dealers in canada?

Try to find something interesting in internet or call the model shop guy. I do not know much about robbe dealers in Canada, sorry.

Next week there will be some more free time in my life instead working all the time.

A 700 class motor is rather popular, you can buy it probably in any model shop. Start with this, then rudder shaft. What about your hull? Any progress?
