Source for small Speed Controller ?
I have a model Tug running a 2.4amp 6volt Pitman motor. Power is via an 8.4volt NiCd. I was going to use an old Hitec SP-5/10A ESC but it seems to have passed away so I'm looking for a substitute. Most of the speed controllers I've looked at are rated for upwards of 40 amps, a bit big for the application. Does anyone know of a reversing speed controller more appropriately sized for this motor ?

You may want to check with the scale or car guys. All the ESC's we use are forward only as reversing a boat is never needed.

Hi there
you can yuse any product from EZX. Find Hitec product online. Always remember that you can put in your boat anything you want: Hitec , Futaba, Sanwa. Tug boat is a boat to go first ahead, next to go back. So, buy any speed controller and programm it. What a problem? I used to use EZX in tugs, speed boats or any of that kind. It works with 400 speed class motor or with 500, 600 also. P. |
