Source for small Speed Controller ?
I have a model Tug running a 2.4amp 6volt Pitman motor. Power is via an 8.4volt NiCd. I was going to use an old Hitec SP-5/10A ESC but it seems to have passed away so I'm looking for a substitute. Most of the speed controllers I've looked at are rated for upwards of 40 amps, a bit big for the application. Does anyone know of a reversing speed controller more appropriately sized for this motor ?

Hi there
you can yuse any product from EZX.
Find Hitec product online.
Always remember that you can put in your boat anything you want: Hitec , Futaba, Sanwa.
Tug boat is a boat to go first ahead, next to go back.
So, buy any speed controller and programm it. What a problem?
I used to use EZX in tugs, speed boats or any of that kind. It works with 400 speed class motor or with 500, 600 also.

You may want to check with the scale or car guys. All the ESC's we use are forward only as reversing a boat is never needed.
