Mick, just let us know when.
Went out this morning and finally started to get it to go, then had the collet come loose, I think it slipped first because it damaged the shaft. Had to order a new collet and some more shafts. I supose I did not have it tight enough.

Cheers

Hi All,
The posty arrived at 6.30am this morning, He knew I was waiting on parts, the new shafts and collets arrived, a quick setup and grease and on the water this morning, There is some dad weather on the way so I got out early, Bit of an Opps at the end, no damage done. I kill the engine after running like this to check the high end mix by inspecting the plug(still slightly rich) The prop angle is still a little low, will lift it up 1/2 deg and play a bit more.

It's almost there now. After the adjustment of the prop angle and slight trim tab adjustments it is now up running on the prop. Bit hard to see in the video. Had problems at the end with fuel starviation from the tank not venting correctly, will have to fix that

Nice suprise there ghost even though its a chinese hull. Make sure when you get it on the water, you get some footage of the cat running.
Was thinking of getting some thing like that for my little boy as a starter boat, obviuosly he would pick what type of hull he wanted.
Oh a word of advise, dont run the cat at the same time with Mick, your cat just might not look the same once you bring her in....hey MICK

Lookin to see this boat running Andrew

No drama, will ring soon.

Had the boat out this morning, it was going great, better than the other day, ended up going too far with the tuning, sorry no vid as the camera did not start[], ended up burning up the piston/cylinder[:@]. Will have to check out new parts on monday.

Cheers

Hi All
Had the boat out again today for a quick run to see is the repair worked, seams to have, the problem was caused by heat, no cooling of the exhaust header, seen it today, had a big restriction in it somewhere. Also had the cat on the water, the cat would be a good boat for kids, maybe. it will need better air flow through the hull, runs hot.

Cheers

The fault with the over heating of the K30 is the exhaust header, and bad O rings on the pipe/header conection. Found a restriction in the exhaust adaptor cooling circut and a leak on the inside O ring on the pipe/header conection allowing the pressure in the pipe to reduce/stop the cooling effect. Have ordered new O rings and a new exhaust adaptor.

Cheers

Hi All, not done much due to bad back, Have upgraded the engine in the Bud Cat, have not had it on the water with it. How many check the exhaust header for the size of the exhaust opening. Had to increase the opening.

Cheers

Andrew did you use a dremel or file to open up the exhaust header?

Yes and No, I have a selection of files for chain saw chains, very good for doing this sort of work, rough it out with the dremel and then finish with the files.

Hi All,
Got out on the water this morning for a run. The new pipe (hanson) will be great after I get it set, getting in excess of 17K rpm(17680) and I think I can get maybe another 1000 out of it. The air flow/cooling is fixed, now all I need is a good day to get out and really get it going. Only got a couple of runs before the rain came back.

Cheers
