Echo Blower Boat
I am new to this hobby. I want to build a boat out of an Echo 21.2cc engine off of a PB200 blower. My first boat will just be a rough experiment. I want it to float, accelerate, decelerate, steer and kill on command. As I gain experience I will make a nicer boat. My engine has a theaded 8MM 1.25 pitch shaft that I will need to connect a cable/shaft and propeller to. Can anyone recommend a method of making this connection? Specific parts and web sites would be appreciated. Cable/shaft and prop recommendations appreciated. Information on how to mount the cable/shaft under the boat near the prop would be appreciated. I would also appreciate information on rudder suggestions. Thank you.

I have to agree, talk to Tony. For other possible options, you can look at the Octura Strudder(?) strut/rudder combo assembly or a Speedmaster strut/stinger and rudder assembly. Aeromarine has some parts as well though not as much for a larger boat that you discribed

Tony is certainly a great source.
Another one to try is Aeromarine who make the collets - I imagine they have one for the 8mm shaft (just not standing out on their website) http://www.aeromarinerc.com/

RE: Echo Blower Boat
Yup, the Aeromarine collet Mart states is the one ya need. It will be 3/16" buts thats just fine for that engine and it's HP and torque rating.
Cabling use the 3/16 flex to welded stub type. props will also be 3/16 hub.
If a Mono hull ? ... an Octura X460/3 prop is ideal.
Did TWO monos a few years apart using that exact engine, water cooled the cylinder, made custom mounts, added a CDI chip replacing points etc ....
Do understand ... VIRTUALLY NO PARTS EXIST for that early 1980's vintage engine, don't invest much ... that is Free Wisdom

RE: Echo Blower Boat
Honestly that engine even modified I doubt made 2 1/2 HP and props that actually were NOT TOO BIG happened to also be 3/16 hub stuff from the .67 / 11 cc nitro engine boats.
1/4 cable is overkill and IMO just more expense without gain
